Default passion flower (passiflora?)

Can any1 help me?
I have one of these things growing very well up a wall. Are the fruits edible? Is there an edible variety and an ornamental variety? How do I tell without eating one and karking it?

Hi Zebedee

This thread may help as there's been quite a bit of discussion about edible (or not!!) passion fruit...

My passion fruit - can I eat it?
