    Moving established plants.

    I have a fence going up in the next week or two, I have rosa rugosa planted there the last two or three years that I need to move first. I'll be sticking them back in pretty much the same area when the fence is up.

    Will it be safe enough to leave them in pots for a few weeks? I have another flower/bush (no idea what it is, just that it has green leaves and gets nice yellow blossoms) to move at the front because the bed it's in is over crowded. I'll have to select another spot for it and stick it straight in the ground.

    If the root ball isn't too disturbed a big pot works fine, ensure it doesn't dry out. It may pay to prune the tops back now as well. Once it starts to bud and flower it's best to get it back in the ground, A few weeks will be OK just now but beyond that expect the plant to stress and have a poor or late season.

      It may be a bit late answering this, but I would consider cutting the plants back and provide cover/ protection for them rather than lifting them, if you have lifted them, they will need cut back if you haven't done so already.
      it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
