    Mignonette

    Hi

    I wondered if anyone on here has grown this. It really is an old fashioned flower
    and really boring to look at but my Nan always said it smelt lovely.
    I wonder if it is worth growing by my patio doors for the scent

    I've never heard of it- so Google stepped in to help!

    Apparently you need to look out for some of the newer larger flowers- and check that they've not lost their scent in the breeding of the larger flower.
    Think I'll look out for this too- sounds lovely!
    Bet it would look and smell nice with Evening Primrose interplanted!

      Oh, grow it, it's fantastic! As you say, looks like nothing, but the scent it undescribably lovely! Do it, do it, do it!!! I grew it with night scented stock for a day-and-night fragrant corner

        I grew it years ago! It looks really boring but the scent is incredible!

        I tried jogging, but I couldn't keep the ice in my glass.

          Cheers all for info. You have persuaded me to give it a whirl. I think I will
          mix it with some nicotiana and night scented stock. Cant wait for a decent
          summer evening and a nice mohito on the patio! Well, nothing like wishful thinking
