  • Madonna lily(lilium candidum)

I tried to get hold of them for the last couple of years and finally gave up.The b***ers are expensive and it's vicious circle trying to get them. They are supposed be planted in August(sorry, out of season, lily is a spring planting flower, try in the spring),when I tried to get them in spring-sorry,they are out of season, try August.
Finally got hold of one supplier-I was able to place an order and not so expensive either.5 minutes later got a phone call to tell me they aren't in the season and either they'll refund me the money or I'll wait till they come(guess when?yes, the end of August).I chose the 2nd option as I'm so fed up with chasing after stupid flower bulbs.
I wanted to have them really badly as I remember them from my childhood-pure white flowers with heavenly scent.
Now just wait(till August) and see but all my joy of getting them has evaporated somewhere on the way...

Thanks,Nick, they used to have them but not anymore. My MIL gets a wholesale catalogue from them,so she'd let me know.I'll just have to wait till August and hopefully I'll get some flowers next year(that's a looooooong wait).

I don't know if this helps, but 25 nurseries listed as stocking it: Suppliers / RHS Gardening

        (24 mail order suppliers: http://apps.rhs.org.uk/rhsplantfinde...162&so=pf&mo=Y)

Thanks,TS,I recognized some of the nurseries as I came across them earlier.I have already ordered the bulbs,I'll get them(hopefully)in August. What annoyed me is that lily is a spring planting bulb, but this particular one seems to be an exception and should be planted in August.I did some googling on the subject, some sources say spring, some August and some both times
