  • Lily Bulbs.

Does anybody lift their lily bulbs.
I grow lilys in large pots and bring them into the greenhouse in the winter.
The last few years I have lost some due to vine weavil in the pots even though the pots have been stood on my little balcony.
I am wondering if I would be better off lifting them out of the pots and re-planting them in the Soring.
    All advice appreciated.

And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

I would pot them into new compost now and dispose of the old compost as it is bound to have larvae and eggs in it.

Lily bulbs don't like to be dried out so do as Wendy suggests. It will also give you the chance to thin them out a bit and take the small bulbs away to grow on to flowering size.
