  • Just found an old piccie.....

This is from an experimental era when I used to interplant veggies with flowers and herbs.
If you look hard enough you'll find my youngest son and 'mine and his' faithfull companion...Kas, the German Shepherd who is long gone but not forgotten!
Looking back at this...........I wonder have I moved on or went backwards..................

What a lovely picture - a real cottage garden if ever I saw one.

Wow! So you've got better at gardening since then too?
To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower

Your picture puts me in mind of a book I am currently reading 'Square Foot Gardener' - there are many styles of gardening - this 'SFG' makes a lot of sense to me

i assume from that comment you have a well organised plot now? not as 'pretty'? is that what you are thinking? personally i think the old one looks lovely, although the new one might be more productive.
Your original one is what my garden is going to look like this year, i am quite looking forward to it, it wont be a well organised pottager, but it will have lots of flowers and stuff too, case of fitting it all in where i can

I'd need to strim it first as it's derelict!..............Not my plot anymore!

Unfortunately I went back to planting veg and flowers in defined positions which IS more productive but I don't think it gladdens the heart or brightens the plot like it used to.

Maybe time to adopt the old regime again!
