Default Identifying a mystery plant.

If anyone can help identify this plant i'd be most appreciative. To my humble eye it looked like a giant daisy........but all the wrong colours and shape

These are growing in the next door neighbours garden at my recently vacated flat. unfortunately the owner has recently passed on so i can't ask her advice on what they are but i really fancy growing some as a memory of my time there. Any ideas?

D

P.S for what it's woth they seem to have a similar leaf shape to that of a poppy.

Gerbera? I don't know them well, but looks a bit like the ones I see in garden centres from time to time.

Looks like a gaillardia to me . I`ve grown them from seed before but they are not very hardy & seem to die after a couple of years.
