Anyone able to identify this plant which is just coming into flower. Note the lower leaves are very different from the upper leaves on the plant. Thanks.

Hi Veggiechicken. As a moderator can I ask you why any photos I post are small and out of focus if one tries to expand the posted photo. This posting of a poor photo always happens with me. The photos before I post are of great clarity and quality and are either uploaded from an iPad Pro or an iPhone. I would love to know what is happening. Thanks.Comment

Just testing with this image to see if the forum auto-resizes large images, in which case the forum must have an auto-resize function that affects the quality of images.
anyways this is my stokesia which doesn't seem to flower at all...
ps: the verdict is the forum auto-resized my image from 5MB to down 100KB. That's a lot. So the ratio at which the forum resizes the images is quite hard and can reduce the quality of images. My phone camera has very good resolution, but other people's cameras might not, and when the images are resized look extremely small. Enlarging them after wont help as the quality has been substantially lowered due to the in-build resize function.Last edited by Ryez; 27-07-2016, 02:43 PM.Comment

Hi Ryez, I'm not computer/camera/ phone/ iPad savvy enough to discuss this properly but I think you are saying if a submitted photo to the forum is of low resolution then it will be auto resized and the photo will show as small and cannot be enlarged satisfactorially. Surely an iPad Pro costing over £700 pounds takes quality high resolution pictures?? And any photos taken on my iPad Pro and submitted appear on the forum as small and poor quality. I know nowt about all this techy stuff, just that I agree, Cheops that a top-notch iPad Pro with a super-duper camera reproduce far better quality pics than what appears after they've been attached here .......
Also, here's an odd thing - I've noticed that on occasion when I've posted a pic and viewed it, it sometimes has shown up to me almost the full size of the iPad screen ......What's going on...???
