  • I want this Lawnmower - dh says too expensive...

... but its just perfect for me. Its small so it will sit in the little shed no probs and best of all it hasn't got a lead. I hate all the fuss of getting out two extension leads, looking for the power-breaker (which is always plugged into something else) unravelling it all and then near strangling myself wrapping it over my shoulder whilst mowing. This mower will last and last - the cheap hover we're replacing has only lasted one year and the handle is broke - plus, it doesn't actually 'hover' at all ! I was brought up that quality lasts and that buying cheap is a false economy (as we have found with the one we've got). Dh was brought up a different way
Its not like I can't afford it - I gave up smoking last September and haven't treated myself at all since (I could have saved about £600 if I'd put the money in a jar).
Anyway if any person here present knows of any reason why I should not have my mower speak now or forever hold your peace.
I have a small lawn back and front and they're both quite bumpy - the only reservation I have about this mower is that I'm not sure whether it will work with bumps.
    Thanks... Martha.

    Hi Martha
I have one - well the manual one not the battery one. They are fantastic to use, very accurate cutting but like most mowers they don't like large bumps. (I do ) The grass collector is as close to useless as you can get, it is like someone has said "oi you've forgotten a grass box - use this string and wire and see what you come up with - then tie it on the front" Other than that one of the best mowers I have ever used.

    Hope this helps

oooh yes, thank you! I won't be buying the grass 'box'.... I like to rake, I only have a small garden and its really quick to rake. I like the fact that I can use it manually too when I feel like a workout.
DH said we can go 'to the Lawnmowe shop' (!!!???) and see both the manual and the motor one and see if I can get on with the one I have to push myself.
Does anyone know where there's a 'lawnmower shop' in SE London where I could check both out?

        Hi Martha
This is mine - Brill Razorcut Premium 38 I bought it from these people and it was delivered next day! I think that if you have a medium sized lawn this will be ok. My lawn is 35' wide by 90' long and I use one of these. I have a couple of petrol mowers (I am a gardener) but I prefer this, it is very easy to push as there are not contact points like normal cylinder mowers and cuts beautifully.

Just one thing, Martha - they don't like wet grass.

Thankyou! I read your response to dh and he said I could have the same one as yours - except I got the '33' which is a bit lighter - my garden is more like 20"x20". I'm not sure when it will be delivered but hopefull the rain will keep off till it arrives. I'll be Mrs Muscle!
