  • Hyacinth bulbs

    Hello

I planted a couple of bowls with hyacinths a good few weeks back now after seeing it on gardener's world. They have been living in the old wardrobe in the garage, the compost is still dampish, and they were set only half bulb deep in the compost as per instructions. However they are only just now starting to produce the tinyest of shoots out of the top of the bulb. I was hoping to use them as christmas pressies - is there any way of speeding them up a bit?

    Many thanks
    Jane,

they'll still make good presents ... I'd rather receive a hyacinth that waits a bit, rather than one in flower that only last till Boxing Day
Once they get going, they grow really fast.
