I'm interested in this too, particularly flowers that I can grow on a North facing fence.

That's a tricky one. Most of the bee friendly flowers I can think of tend to be upright, not trailing. I guess that's logical, because the plant is inviting the bee to pollinate it, so makes it as easy as possible for the bee to find and access the flower.

Bees like fuchsias, so you could use trailing ones, preferably ones with single flowers, rather than the flouncy double variety, as bees prefer simple flowers. Poached egg plants can look good in a mass in a hanging basket, and would hang over the edges, but not actually trail down. You could put purple cranesbill into a basket and it would probably flop down over the edges - bees don't seem to like the pink ones, in my garden at least.

For a north facing fence, IE, I'd go with fuchsias and/or busy lizzies, as both are tolerant of shade, and you might get away with pelargoniums and petunias too.

      Endless wonder.

Petunias are a great favourite of bees...especially the Suffina variety. Go for single varieties of flowers....single fuchsias rather than the big blousey doubles as bees find these much easier to get to
