Thinking of planting some glads over the plot, do they have any particular soil requirements please?

I plant mine with some well rotted manure...seems to work. -
I plant mine successionally (for Cut Flowers), starting some off in modules in April. My soil is heavy clay, albeit with plenty of compost added each year, but the Glads did OK even in the first year.
"Harvesting" starts around beginning of August through to end of September. These photos from end of August
