  • Giant phlox position

Hi I just got some giant phlox hardy mix bareroot plants from t &m. They were selling them for 1p as an offer. I have googled but cant seem to find if they like sun or will tolerate shade. I had been thinking of planitng them in a shady border.
Is it too cold to plant them out, would they be better in pots in the GH till spring? As they are bareroot plants if I plant them out do I need to leave a bit above the surface?

    Sorry loads of questions

I'd put them in - they are rock hardy. They like sun really but I think they'd cope with partial shade.
