  • Freesias - Help please

Following advice from some earlier posts, I popped into a Pound shop today and amongst other temptations bought a pack of freesias in a senior moment.
Having paid my pound and left the shop I remembered that I have tried growing freesias at least four times before as OH just loves them.
I've put them in the conservatory, I've put them in the front porch, the garden etc . Many haven't grown and almost none have flowered.
Can someone please, please advise me of a foolproof way of getting them to grow and flower.
It can't be that difficult as they grow, apparently, wild in Madeira.

Freesia's flower when the soil is cool. The growers over here actually chill the soil with underground pipes to get them to flower. Maybe you're keeping them too warm.

Hiya, have bumped this thread to ask a question!!

I got some bulbs last weekend and have follwed the planting directions on the pack. Will they flower this year?? (I really hope they do, cos I would like some for the upcoming nuptials, trying to grow as many flowers as I can to save money)
Its not the end of the world if they don't, but would be nice if they did

Freesia season is just about to start here - not sure what it is in UK but if you were here it would be too late for this year (unless grown under cover using artificial conditions)

I've got about 45 of these and the pack says to plant between April & May.
