I just scattered them on the ground and some germinated and even flowered the same year. They are bi-annual and those that didn't will flower this year. There are also new seedlings appearing.

It's a total weed on Rusty Lady's allotment...comes up everywhere. It likes wasteland (dry) and can't grow in the shade ... sow seed May-August. It will flower the following year.

I gave up trying to grow them from seed because I had the same problem. I bought a couple of plants instead and I'm hoping for flowers this year.

They seem to have established okay.

Sorry to say this, but I am trying to get rid of it. Once you've got it you seem to have it forever so I assume the seed needs to be really fresh in order to germinate. Also it self-seeds readily so no special conditions needed for germination.

Yes rusty that is the same with me! I have given plants and seed away to so many friends and neighbours that they are now everywhere. I love the smell though. If any one would like some seeds I do have plenty free to a good home! They thrive on neglect, so just bung them in where you want them to grow and forget.
