Can any grapes help? I have a 4ft high silver euonymous growing against a NW facing wall, half of which is poorly. I believe it is suffering from euonymous scale so badly that half is leafless, bare and looks like it is dead, the other half is alive but sickly. My question is, do I prune all down to say 8 inches and hope it regrows, prune out the deadish half, or dig it out entirely and accept defeat?
Not really a gyo question, but someone out there may know.

I would chop it down. If it looks sick you haven't got much to loose and it may come back. Anything that remains after the chop I would scrub with soapy water to remove any lurking scale. Did this to a bay tree once and it came back fine.

Sounds like a plan and will probably go that route, but it does pain me to loose years of plant growth. Many thanks for the moral support.
