I know I am really really really late but where can I get daffodil bulbs from now? I know there is a realy slim chance of success :-(

    Now?

You'll be lucky - they're 6 inches high already round here

There were big bags of them in the Garden centre yesterday - reduced to half price.

They may not do great guns this year, and they will be late, but assuming you are planting in the ground they they will give a good show for years to come

Our 'In Bloom' group still has a sack to plant - we were given them late in the planting season and got one of the two sacks in and then the weather went beserk!
They'll come later the first year but they catch up eventually - just make sure you put them in deep enough - 6" down is good.

Depending on how many you want and happy to spend, as lots of places will now/soon be selling them potting up.

I got a pot of Tete-a-tete from M&S for £1 with seven bulbs stuffed in one pot. They've been blooming away nicely in this cool weather for a few weeks. Depends on how many daffs you want really. Just a few on a table or a carpet of 'em in the garden.

I'd wait until next Autumn to plant bulbs, though I must confess to planting some Tahiti daffs in December. They're barely poking out but at least they look alive.

I put mine in a bit early, Sept 09, then we had a really warm autumn and they were flowering in Oct/Nov, stupid things

My daffs are just little green shoots poking out of the ground today, the snowdrops are bigger.

They are forced ones for indoors, you can't just plant them outside - have them indoors, cool room then when they die back you can plant them for a (fingers crossed) show next spring
