Default Is this a cosmos record

I planted some tiny little Cosmos seeds in the spring and some of them don't know when to stop growing . A couple of them are about 8 ft tall. is this a record .

Wow! Save some seed from those. Mine stopped growing at 4'6" and my neighbour dug hers up when they got to 5' and she couldn't see out of her lounge window. Maybe something to do with the warm wet "summer" we've had
