  • bulbs in plastic pots

Hi, hope someone can help me!!! I'm searching for plastic bulb containers to grow some bulbs with children so that they can watch the roots grow. I can't use the traditional 'hourglass' glass ones as we can't use glass near the children. However I can't find any anywhere....anyone seen these for sale or online??? Thanks.

You often find transparent plastic pots for sale for use with orchids - try that section of your local garden centre...

A thought struck me when I saw this thread the other day, and I pondered it, and then checked the shelves in the co-op.

some drinks bottles have a depression in the middle, where you hold it?

how about using those, cut the top off, rest the bulb above the depression, fill the bottom with water?

you can also push cocktail sticks through to balance the bulb on, I do this with avacodo stones, gently pushing the pointy end into the stone.

They definitely had some in the greenhouse for orchids the other week - I think it was in a Wyevale one but not sure.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
