IMO Its never too late to plant bulbs - they just flower later. Now may not be the best time because of the cold weather, but they're not going to grow in the packets so you may as well plant them - says she, looking at some unplanted alliums

It's pretty late but you've got nothing to lose - I've planted between Christmas and New Year before (daffs as I recall) and although they were late and short lived the first year they flowered.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Even if flowering is late / Not Much Cop!, they will establish next year and then do a good job in following seasons but in the packet they will wither away as VC said.

In the past I have planted daffs. and tulips that turned up in February, (I think my wife forgot about them) there was frost on the ground when I found the again but rather than put them on the compost heap I thought I would bury them in the ground, and I had a great display with the daffs and tulips flowering at the same time, and remember if you dont try something you will never know what will happen.
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Rary, don't forget to soak the anenome de caen corms overnight before planting, it'll speed them up a bit.
