Beginner question re plants from seed

You can grow almost anything from seed, although some things work better by cuttings.

And you can sometimes be waiting a year - or several - for things to grow to a decent size, or to flower. I tend to make a list of perennials I like (and would like a lot of, which can be expensive if you buy plants) and then have a look at the seed packets in garden centres, or online, to see if they can be grown without any fancy equipment. Have just planted out some ox-eye daisies and harebells grown from seed.
