  • Anyone ID flowers from Cyprus?

Found these while on holiday in Cyprus. First one is about 14" across the leaves with lots of short-stemmed flowers in the centre. It grows in the same form as a primrose but is much bigger and has more flowers. The other is just as it looks, about 4" high. (It isn't a crocus!)

Thanks, J. I think it probably is, looks very much like it doesn't it?

The first one looks like an African violet.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Does look awfully like an African violet, Bramble, thought you might have got it, but thanks to Sillhouette2 and his/her photo on Flickr I've found out that it is an Autumn Mandrake (Mandragora autumnalis). It's a member of the nightshade family. The photo is Sillouhette2's, so similar to mine but shows flowers open.
