  • Anybody know what this is?

About 5 years ago we decided to plant some rather more exotic and tropical looking plants in our garden.

Trouble is we have no idea (other than it's probably some kind of yucca) what this is. The leaves are about 2 feet long with a pronounced kink in the middle and the creamy white flowers (first time flowering) look individually like hemerocallis on a 4 foot spike.

    Anybody know?

    Yup, it's a Yukka.

When we lived in Edwin Starr's old house, there were loads of these in the front garden.

Thanks Zazen. That's the one. Boss lady is now upset when she read that it dies after flowering. She reckons we are both so old that we will never see another if we have to start it again from its seeds. Haven't looked for offsets so we just hope there are some.
