| Ricci's the most common one that you find. My dad had one with slightly bigger flowers that were all red called Flash, that was nice

| I can't stand that Russian Vine stuff - and death's too good for pampass grass too! Otherwise they all have a certain charm.

| Hmmm, cant say I hate any flowers as such, but can happily live without that yellow broom stuff, it stinks! And I'm not into fuschias or hydrangas either, and I can definitely live without most grasses, dont see the point of them really other than in the lawn !

| The plants I really, really hate are chrysanthemums. Mum and dad had a small greengrocery shop, which was basically the front room of a terraced house. The 'shop' spread into the living accommodation. At this time of year we were not allowed to have any heat on, 'as it would kill the flowers' ie chrysanths - 2/s a bloom aka 10p. Heaven only knows what the equivalent price would be today. I really, really hate them. They remind me of cold miserable winters, and they stink. valmarg |

| I don't understand all the hype with roses to be honest - don't get me wrong, I don't hate them as such but I don't get why people get so caught up in them. There probably are flowers I hate, but as for knowing their names.... All the gear, no idea.

| Chrysanths ~ hate them, they're dead people flowers! Hydrangea's other than the deep, deep blue ones. Fuschia's...for all of the above reasons! And daffodils! We used to be given a bulb in school which we had to grow and my Mum used to keep saying we'd plant it tomorrow and tomorrow never came! But a couple of weeks before they were due to be brought back in they were planted and stuck in front of the central heating vent to try and encourage some growth. If you got a flower from it you got a certificate in colour, if you had a bud you got a black and white certificate and if you had nothing you got nothing.....I generally got nothing! |

| RL, Sarz & CV, I agree, I hate hydrangeas. Goes back to an awful holiday I had when I was a child. Supposed to be a holiday with my dad in attendance (rare as he was a doctor and didn't often go with us). We were in this very posh hotel in Newquay, it rained all week and we had absolutely nothing to do. We spent most of it walking about in the rain as the sight of us children seemed to offend the other hotel guests even though we were very well-behaved. The hotel and all of Newquay seemed to be full of damp hydrangeas.

| I also dislike hydrangeas. One of our Britain in Bloom committee got a job lot of - shall I say - inexpensive - ones. The flooding came. I hoped they were drowned. Sadly, the one on the flower bed I'm responsible for seems to have risen from the dead - new shoots in abumdance. My heart soared when I saw the blackened leaves in July - Aren't I awful?

| Hydrangeas for me too - they always look so tatty! And can't make their mind up sometimes whether to be pink or blue. Problem is my Nana had one right outside her front door and I'd hate to think that was her favourite flower - sorry Nana!

As well as all the shades of green you can get black, blue, yellow, variagated etc. What with all the different sizes and habit's of growth and even there different flowering inflorecences I think an ornamental grass bed would look great![]() Each to there own I suppose!
