Anyone have any idea what this is, or why it's happened?
As you can see, most of the leaves are fairly "whispy" and are light green with pinkish edges. However, there are a splash of leaves (only in one place) that have grown completely different to the rest.... ![]() http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...t/SP_A0301.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...t/SP_A0302.jpg

Hi Wayne
I agree with peanut, I also have this variety of acer, mine is ok at the moment but another one has scab which I have been treating. I remember reading that varigated varieties are prone to reverting to type, spotted laurel occassionally does this. I wonder if you cut away the reverted bit and pot up as a cutting the other may come true. If not 2 for the price of one can't be bad. I only found out recently that acers can be taken from cuttings so you may be sucessful. Good Luck |

I lopped the offending appendage off and threw it I'm afraid.

Best thing really. The reverted form will be stronger and will eventually overtake the 'fancy' one.
