  • Will the offshoots of my raspberries eventually fruit?

    Hey folks,

A couple of weeks ago I found some tiny mini rasperry plants growing around my greenhouse. I dug them up, planted them in pots and they are doing well. They have grown a lot in a short period of time.

    Will they eventually grow fruit?

Are they runners from raspberry canes?

      They should fruit.
If they're seedlings the fruit might be slightly different from their parents.
If they're suckers coming up from the roots of nearby raspberry plants they should produce the same type of fruit as the plant they originate from (and may have the same diseases if the parent plant was infected).
      .

They will eventually fruit and eventually take over the garden.

I can assure you that I won't let that happen, but thanks for your input.
