    White Soul Germination

    I planted a few different types of alpine strawberries a couple of weeks back including white soul. All the others have germinated to varying degrees but not a single white soul seed has raised its head.

    Do these take longer to germinate than red alpines? or maybe I sowed them too early?

    They were sown in seed compost, gently watered and are being grown in a small heated propagator on a windowsill. As far as I'm aware I haven't done anything differently to the red alpines but I do have enough seeds left to sow a second lot if I have.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    yeah white soul take long in my experience

    I dont like them anyway, they dont taste like pineapple. I just sowed mine to get rid of them and use as ground cover.

    The alexandrias and one other are all coming up, the white soul look dead

      Ok well thanks for the advice, I wont give up on them just yet.

      I might plant them in pots if I can ever get them to germinate in that case then if I don't like them I can just sling them! I've got some white one which are from a red and white mix pack which are nice though x

        yeah hopefully they work out for you.

        Even though I'm not a big fan, i use them in the gaps between plants just to fill up space. They are pretty too
