Default when will my gooseberries be ready

hi in my garden i have a gooseberry bush hidden at the back of the orchard its really laden and they are turning slightly red..when will they be ready to pick and any ideas what to do with them...

I find that they are "just ripe" when they have just a fraction of a bit of give to them as you give them a tiny squeese between your fingers.

I tend to go round the bush daily when they start to look ready and take off the one that match.

pick and cook, am still waiting for mine to grow,make jam pies crhmbles,if not very sweet try adding another sweet frhit, am so jelohse.
