  • Strawberries still fruiting

First year growing these but it's a bit late isn't it? Two green strawberries on one plant.

My everbearers and some of my early strawberries (Vibrant) have fruit on, but they are unlikely to ripen properly now as there is not really enough sun. They also won't like the recent frosty nights.

I think probably the correct thing to do now is remove the fruits and let the plant develop its strength for next year's crop, if you can bear to (I usually can't).

Yes I'm sure they won't be able to ripen now, so I'll go do as you suggest and encourage the plant to settle into winter.

I found a few earlier on the last of my strawberries that I've transferred to the allotment. Only on the wild strawberries though!
