  • Rhubarb from seed

Does anyone on this forum have experience with growing rhubarb from seed? I sowed rhubarb seeds about a month ago and there are now several seedlings about 5 cm high. The seeds are from Italy and do not specify the name or anything apart from stating that the plant can be harvested after a year. I took pictures with my phone but haven't yet discovered how to transfer them to the computer and then put them on the post. Any advice will be appreciated, thanks.

As soon as they are big enough, pot them up, and keep them somewhere sheltered - in the greenhouse, under a hedge - and plant them out in Spring. No picking any stems next year, start the year after.

Thelma, thank you for the advice. I have potted up the largest seedlings in a peat based mix and have placed them where they will get irrigation as the expected rain hasn't shown up yet.
