| We just discovered some strange stuff on both our rhubarb plants which are planted several metres apart. There was a strange jelly like substance on the stalks and leaves and some strange marks on the stalks. At the base of the stalks, there was white foam (which I believe contains a larvae from some sort of insect). Just wondering if anyone has any ideas? |

| The 'sap' from rhubarb sets to a jelly. If the stalks have been damaged at all, even cracked by blowing in the wind, you get this jelly-ish stuff. It's part of the plant's own system. Don't worry about it. You can still eat the rhubarb, just scrape it off or cut out that bit.
