  • Red and white currant plants going bad.

I got one of each from asda this year planted them in semi shade along with feed and micorrihizal fungi, wanted them reg and they look!ed good up until the last month. They started to turn yellow and the leaves had wilted a bit but they still remained on the plant... I wondered if like raspberries it could be lack of iron??

I've been patient but they haven't pulled themselves round so I've cut them back.

What do you think has happened, do you think they will come back with me cutting them back earlier than I should of?

    Thanks guys

I've just harvested redcurrants this evening. Redcurrants and whitecurrants can be pruned as they are harvested. They both have a much yellower leaf than blackcurrants.

Pictures would help but my guess is one of: too little water / too much fertiliser ('fertiliser scorch') / extreme overwatering.
        .

I'd cut them off and put them on the burner, didn't think to take pic.

Think it might be over watering....

They are in shade as apparently they can go there and I did water them every week Hopi g they would establish quicker..

          Thanks guys

the leaves on mine go yellow and fall off 3-4 weeks after harvesting the fruit ,they should be fine but try not to overwater them too
