  • Raspberry Wish

    Hi,

My wife and I have had two allotments for many years and due to ill health we are having to cut down to one.

We want to transplant our raspberries from one site to another. They are autumn raspberries and I know now is kind of the wrong time to move them but we wondered if we cut them down soon so that we can burn the canes on November 5th and move them to a prepared bed.

We have had a lovely lot of raspberries and will miss them but needs must.

Please can I have your thoughts about doing this.
    thanks

If you have to do it now or don't take them then just go for it.

They'll be fine - they're tough as old boots

I transplanted some in late May this year. They've been fine and have given me two crops of fruit. I was careful to dig up as much soil with them as possible so as not to disturb the roots too much. I also kept them very well watered. I agree with Thelma, Raspberries are super tough! Good luck and sorry to hear about your health troubles. X

Thank you for all your help.

We were just so worried we would kill them and we love our raspberries.

You've set our minds at rest.

          Cheers.
          thanks
