Default Pruning blackcurrants?

Can anyone tell me, when I should prune our blackcurrant shrubs? They are about 3 ft tall now (more than 14 years old) and I'm not sure how much should be pruned off and when this job should be done to encourage more fruit for next year.
Thanks for any advice!

goodness, only 3 ft tall at 14? how have you managed to keep them so contained?
i prune mine all year pretty much, doesnt seem to affect fruiting, going to leave them for a few weeks now till i have stocked up the freezer then blitz them.
somone else might know better.
