hi all got 6 polka raspberrys canes from T.M they are early autumn croping it says in leaflet that they dont need any suport ? any ideas on this

I've not grown that variety but they should fruit next year, play it by ear & if you think they are growing a bit too tall, put some strings up for support.

My Autumn fruiting rasps grow to about 6ft, I don't bother with any support for them. My summer fruiting variety have a support system.

I have Polka, I love their big fat berries and almost spineless canes. Mine got to a record 5ft this year (lots of sun & rain at the right times).
I don't support them, they stand up just fine on their own.

I have had my polka for over 5yrs,geat size and taste,i tie in the late stems that wont fruit and trim them to5-6ft and they then crop earlier spreading your cropping time and seemingly larger crops, we still have loads in the freezer +jam+ ice cream + sorbet + mousses....just lovely..
