 Ogen melon help please This is the first year i have grown melon and am really pleased that i have 1 that is about the size of OH's fist, but i really haven't got a clue as to how big they get or when they are ripe. Can anyone help please!!!!      |

| There will be a little bit of 'give' when you squeeze it, and apparently it will smell ready?! I've never grown them myself, but that's what Bob Flowerdew says!

| That advice sounds about right to me - same as the way to tell a shop-bought one is ripe. However, my cantaloupe style melons (in the greenhouse) took forever to get going and I now have one melon developing - about the size of a ping-pong ball!!! Not much chance of it getting ripe this year methinks  |
