Default Ogen melon help please

This is the first year i have grown melon and am really pleased that i have 1 that is about the size of OH's fist, but i really haven't got a clue as to how big they get or when they are ripe. Can anyone help please!!!!

There will be a little bit of 'give' when you squeeze it, and apparently it will smell ready?! I've never grown them myself, but that's what Bob Flowerdew says!

That advice sounds about right to me - same as the way to tell a shop-bought one is ripe.

However, my cantaloupe style melons (in the greenhouse) took forever to get going and I now have one melon developing - about the size of a ping-pong ball!!! Not much chance of it getting ripe this year methinks
