Default My rasps are dying!

My summer fruiting rasps are going great guns, lots of new growth, but on my autumn fruiters (first year in) the early growth seems to be dying. There is new growth and there were flowers - which I expected to become raspberries, which have now disappeared. The old growth has gone brown and shrivelled and it looks as though the new growth is going the same way. As I had thought that rasps were virtually indestructible they haven't been watered as much as the veg, could this be the reason? Should I cut back the old growth now?
Any help would be fab!!!

I should dig up one or two of the affected canes and have a look at the roots. Have your autumn raspberries been in very wet soil ? You can get root rot and the most likely reason is poor drainage.
