  • My 99p Apple tree

Presumably the very death of the season, no doubt why Morrisons had reduced it to 99p. I don't holld out much hope for it, it does look very lifeless but I took great pity on it and where there's a will . . . of course I could have gone to the Lottery counter and with the extra 1p won a few mill.
I think I made the right choice.

I bought one for £5 a few weeks ago, they did reduce them, but no apple trees left.
I have about 6 that I am growing from pips, I had the sow about thirty pips to get 6 tho.

I would check the tree by scraping a little bit of bark to see if it is green underneath. The branches should be supple and not be brittle if bent.

Soak the roots for 24 hours before planting, if its not too late.

With luck you should have apples in a few years.

Ooops, too late. It's in the ground. I did give it a really good watering after planting it though. I did know about scraping the bark but that would take some of the fun away - the expectancy. I'll just wait for that little green shoot.
