Default Fruit Trees

My mother wants to buy me some fruit trees for christmas, I'm thinking a couple of apples and a pear.

They will need to be small ones and be able to start of live in large pots as we are hoping to move.

Has anybody any reccomondations of type of tree and also good priced sellers of them.

Thanks

Why not wait till you've moved & then have them as moving in presents There is another thread on Apple trees dealing with this. Varieties of Pears are harder than apples as they are less tollerant of frosts than apples. But Comice are a nice one or event the good old Conference, but you may need more than one pear as well as most aren't self fertile.

which apple tree??

Most of the normal trees won't be happy in pots & if you wait till around now you can get them bare rooted cheaper then the pot grown jobs.

If you doo a google on fruit specalists & compare prices I think they are all much of a muchness

Try Ken Muir for Minarette trees. They grow very well in large pots; I have a couple and the apples this year were ab fab despite the damn drought and hosepipe ban
