  • Early ?

Is it me or is fruit ripening earlier this year. I'm sure when we went away in july last year we had only just started picking raspberries ,this year we've been picking them for weeks....AND last night I spotted the first ripe blackberry

Definitely early here too. My blackberries are usually ripe when I get back from holiday but they look like they'll be ready for picking before or whilst we're away. Strawberries long gone, raspberries mostly gone

early here too...strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, gooseberries all finished. Peaches just ripening.
Wild blackberries here aren't too brilliant ..they often dry up before they properly ripen....appear to be quite a few on the embankment....but they are still green and tiny but even that is early....

Yep, alpine strawberries started cropping a couple of weeks ago, whitecurrants all but eaten, Discovery apples now almost all-over red and strongly scented; ready for picking any day now (normally not ready until late July-early August).
            .

I recently bought some autumn fruiting and summer fruiting raspberries. Somone should have told the autumn ones because they're fruiting too.

Had my first blackberry crumble (hot) with thick cream (cold) today, utter bliss.

Oh and yes they are very early this year.

In the UK , Weve had the raspberrys, blackberrys, blackcurrents, gooseberys, red currents

The apricots look ripe, but i dont think there quite ready, on one side of the house ive just had about a pound of victoria plums, the other victoria trees in the back are still green just starting to ripen here and there, the peaches are very very early compared to last year , the charles ross apples are the only tree with a decent crop and there all at over 3 inch wide, seems very early to be that big

I was checking the wild fruit trees in a few places and found lots of cherry plums, about a month earlier than last year, not all of them are ready though, wild blackberrys very few here and there were ready we walked about 10 miles and get about a punnet of them, the rest wont take long to ripen though

Ive just been over to Bulgaria last week and over there fruit is all very late this year according to the locals it was a very cold start to the year, our plums there were all still very small and green, peaches were about an inch wide

Our blackcurrants are almost ready, a month or so earlier than last year - last year the birds got the lot when we went away for a weekend at the end of July.

Same situation up here with black currants but raspberries and strawberries just getting into full flow now. Red currants almost ready to pick which is also much earlier than usual.
