I'm looking into buying dwarf varieties for any of these: duo pear, nectarine, peach, apricot and maybe cherry.

I gathered that frost are the worst enemy (that can ultimately determine whether you will get any fruit crop that year) but given their dwarf size, are there ways of protecting the trees other than the greenhouse (which I don't have).

Can you cover them with protective material like fleece or bubble wrap??? Should you only use glazed ceramic pots (but massive plastic pots are temptingly cheap) and how big should you ideally aim for to avoid having to transfer to a bigger pot in the future. Even if I do have a big plastic pot for the dwarf trees, could I not bubble wrap the pot to protect from frost?

Fruitwise, how many fruits per tree do you get on average (15??)? For me it's more important to have a variety of fruits (pear, nectarine, apricot) to eat in season in small qty than coping with a ton of plums from one normal size tree...freezing hassle & begging people to take them off you as if they're doing you a big favour!!! Would be interested to hear of your growing and care tips, good and bad experience with dwarf trees.
