  • Chip budding apple

    Hello
I am regretting buying 2 Rode Boskoop Apple Patio Fruit trees! They are in pots can I chip graft other apples onto them like a russet Apple? Could I do it multiple times with different apples to make a tree with different varieties on it?

Thank you I am new to apple trees!

Why are you regretting buying a Boskoop?

I have one - a half-standard on MM111 - and I find it to be fairly vigorous, disease-resistant, attractive blossom and produces reasonable quantities of good quality fruit with good storage qualities.

There's not one thing I can find to complain about.

But as Boskoop is rare in the UK but more common in Europe, I suspect you're on the other side of the channel.

But in answer to your question:

Yes, you can chip-bud with another variety.
Yes, you can have multiple varieties (one variety on each branch) but such 'family trees' can have uneven growth if the grafted varieties grow at different rates.
