  • Camellia Fruit

Just taken this photo of fruit on a Camellia in the garden.
The tree is about 10ft high and 6 ft wide and over 25 years old, but this is the first time I've ever seen fruit on it.
    Is it unusual?
    Is it edible?
Mind you, I can only see this one....so there wouldn't be much jam from it!

I have a Camellia in my garden and it has never set seet pods or fruit in the eight years I have lived here. I've had a look on t'internet and it doesn't say that the fruit are edible, but you could try sowing the seed (nut) inside and see what you get.

Thanks, I may have a go at that. I've had another look over the bush but I can't see any more!
