  • Blueberry bushes too close together

    Hi all

I have three blueberries in a 50cm pot. They were only meant to be in there whilst we moved but I haven't had anywhere to put them.

I was wondering what are people's thoughts of the best thing to do with them now. One has leaves and the other two are struggling to get any. There are no flowers yet either. I know this is as are competing for space and feed. I have given a feed to try and help in the mean time.

So, do I try and tease them apart and put them in their own 50cm pots as I had planned. Or buy a 3ft x 3ft bed and just plant as is in there so they can spread roots?

Deffinatly in a pot of their own,use ericatious compost only, and only water with rain water, then they will have a much better chance off life, and you fruit, though your probably looking at next year for that now, mina are in flower, even 1 of the little wilkos 1 got last year, the other is only leaves,my 2 bigger ones in large containers always do good, and i do nothing, only water and top up the compost every spring,

    Welcome to the forum

      Hello and Welcome.

I'd go with separating them out into their own pots - they’re going to struggle all three together.

Agree with Jay-ell, much better to separate them and the sooner the better. I have mine in pots and of course with ericasious (Sp?) compost, nothing else will do.
