I'm not absolutely sure but i think if you plant them quick, you should get fruit this year, i am hoping for some on mine, i think they fruit on new growth and are ( hopefully ) decent croppers but this depends on the type i assume.
Good luck and someone more knowledgeable will put you right shortly.
by the way where did you get them?

We planted some last year and they fruited that year, not much fruit but enough for a taste. Looking at the bushes now though, I think we will have more this year (says she, hopefully)

Hello

I was told to cut them down to about 4 inches above soil height (just above a bud) so that they don't fruit this year but create strong roots. I got mine from the rescue a plant bit at homebase!

I planted bare root bushes last year & the advice that came with them was to cut them back & not let them fruit so as to allow the roots to establish. A few berries started forming & I picked them off before they developed. This year I can let them fruit.
