Above is a Musa Cavendish growing in our conservatory. It is 2 years old and last week we thought it might be flowering, the above is what it looks like today. This is an edible banana, and should take 2-3 months to get ripe.

Under what conditions are you growing this? Is it outside?

It is grown hydroponically in pebbles in a large container with holes in the bottom suspended above a second container with it's roots hanging in a feed solution. It is grown in our conservatory which is south facing and heated during winter to a minimum of 10 degrees. It takes a lot of water and feed!

Wow, that's great progress. Hope they continue. I love Banana plants but my wife hates them. We manage to compromise though.

I agree - beautiful photo and congrats on having such a healthy plant which is gonna reward you with quite a few bananas. I do though have an even more impressive hand of bananas in my kitchen though admittedly I bought them in Tesco. Joking apart you must be well chuffed.
