Default Ugly Strawberries

Hi,

This might seem a weird question but does anyone else have ugly strawberries? I know that shape isn't everything, and although there is nothing wrong with the taste, I was wondering why my strawberries are this shape.

I have some 2nd year strawberries that grow fine, but the first year (I know you shouldn't but we all do) strawberries have turned out like the pictures attached. I don't know what type they are but they were bought from a different garden centre.

Could it just be the type of strawberry or is there something strange going on?

Any ideas or suggestions welcome!

Clareg

It could be that as the plants are young they hadn't got many fruit on them & so the ones that were there just got pummped up out of shape.

I'm guessing mind. Hopefully normal strwaberries will be consumed next year.

This may be due to the fact that they are not fully established, or it could be that they have had a lack of water.
Keep watering them next year and they should become perfect strawberrys again
