  • Worm tea from the bin of doom?

I cleaned out the failed wormery today and got a bucket full of worm tea. It stank as the wormery hadn't done too well (I buried the sludge)..

Can I use the tea or will it be bad? There is rather a lot, so I'd probably need to dilute it down somewhat, wouldnt' I? How much so? As I've got a whole bucketful...there's a lot to go around.

Maybe it should have been drained off earlier? Yes if you are going to use it as fertiliser it will need diluting. Do you have a compost heap you could tip it onto to act as an acceletator?

Oh yes, it should certainly have been drained off earlier..but I sort of left the whole mess (long story, but the poor worms were already past help).

Good idea, I'll chuck most of it in the compost bin and dilute down the rest to give the rest of my garden a pick-me-up. Thank you!
