Vermiculite/perlite

Please does anyone know if there is a cheaper supplier for either of these? The cheapest secure site on the web seems to be £15. + £6. p&p for 100litres. Also at the moment I only use them on top of seeds but have heard that it is possible to grow just in these mediums. Any explanations gratefully recieved, thankyou, Jan
