  • Polystyrene

Having just taken delivery of a new washer. I have 2 black bags full of broken up polystyrene. I'm gonna save some to put in the bottom of my spring pots. Any other ideas before I bin it?......Thanks

Now BM - can't you mix polystyrene into cement to improve its heat retaining qualities?
    I know - daft idea.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I use it to keep ripening pumpkins out of the mud, it keeps them dry, warm and clean and since I've been using it I never have that problem with a bit of unripened skin at the back because it's so easy to make it the exact shape that you need.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

Build a raised bed in your greenhouse, line it with polystyrene and fill it with fresh manure and straw. Turn it a couple of times and then cover with a few inches of top soil and hopefully grow all winter !
            Cheers
